How to Know if Spyware Remover Software is Truly Valid or Not

Perhaps you have found yourself the unfortunate victim of the latest notorious bane of the internet – spyware – and now you need to get rid of it and are unsure how.

As spyware is very much like a virus, in terms of how it infiltrates your computer, the first thing that might come to your mind is getting antivirus software.

Perhaps, though, you have tried your current antivirus and found it unsuccessful and are thinking of now buying another antivirus software to compensate.

Don't. You are close with the antivirus as a solution, but not close enough. You need something that is very much like an antivirus except it only removes spyware – you need spyware remover software.

Normal antivirus programs are not truly enough to remove spyware because of their broad approach. Spyware remover software narrows its approach and is created specifically to remove spyware, because spyware – although the same in some instances – is also very different and acts differently to viruses.

But after a search on the internet for spyware software remover you are perplexed and a little disconcerted that there is too much choice. Which one do you go for? The internet seems to have an endless amount available.

One thing you need to do is be aware that many “free” antispyware programs may be fake, a hoax, or even spyware themselves. So how can you know? Here are some tips:

1)    Run a decent check on the whoever the developer/publisher/distributor of the software is.
If the company comes from some obscure company, its best left alone. Not only because it may be fake or spyware, but if anything goes wrong you are probably never going to get hold of anyone.

If the company uses an affiliate program to sell its goods then just make sure you are able to get hold of an affiliate. This could sometimes make things a lot easier.

In light of that, check the support of the company. Do they offer support? How is their service? You can check these sorts of things on the internet, forums, blogs etc.

You can also check the program with the FCC if you are in the US which is really not a bad idea.

2)    Try and avoid online scans.
If it can 'scan' your entire computer in a matter of seconds or even a few minutes you ought to suspect its validity.

3)    Look for obvious mistakes on the website.

Bad graphics, with bad color choices, bad copywriting, bad spelling and bad grammar are usually tell-tale signs that the product may be a little fishy. Bad copywriting will often come in the form of using dire scare tactics and tons of exclamation marks (your could lose all your information right now! Get our antispieware now!!!!) (Bad spelling intended.) Hoaxes on the internet tend to all look and sound like this.

4)    Check the automatic scan carefully

If the 'automatic scan' (which you may not have even asked to have done) produces a ton of results that all sound really bad with popular jargon words like 'trojan' and 'worm' then you should be a little wary of this. Try and go to the same website from another computer and you will probably see it says the same thing.
